11 Observations From Day Eight of Houston Texans Training Camp
Some success on the ground and through the air for the offense
The Houston Texans were back at it on their eighth day of training camp after an off day on Thursday.
Here are 11 observations from the practice.
Red zone work ended practice, but let’s start there. C.J. Stroud and the offense had about 20 seconds to score a touchdown from inside the 20. A good pass was well defended as Stroud tried to hit Dalton Schultz in the back of the end zone. Xavier Hutchinson couldn’t haul in a catch in bounds as a defender shoved him out. Stroud would make the most of his next pass. He stepped up past pressure from Will Anderson Jr. and fired a laser to Jayden Higgins in the back of the end zone. Touchdown. It was great awareness from Stroud to step up, even though there’s an argument to be made that Anderson would have sacked him in a live rep.
