11 Observations From Day Four of Houston Texans Training Camp
The defense had a big day with a few nice moments on offense
The Houston Texans welcomed fans during their fourth workout of training camp.
Here are 11 observations from the practice.
The defensive line dominated practice. If it wasn’t an individual player blowing up a play, it was the front seven swarming to the ball after the line slowed the offense down. Will Anderson Jr. is nearly unblockable. Amidst his numerous plays that looked like sacks, tight end Foster Moreau attempted to block Anderson. Moreau succeeded. He popped Anderson and looked to have him blocked as the play headed that way. Anderson reset, got low, dispatched Moreau, and made the play. It was quick. I am sure the veteran tight end thought he had done enough, but Anderson made it happen despite what looked like excellent contact from Moreau. Danielle Hunter blew through a tight end and running back to affect a pass play. Defensive tackle Tommy Togiai sniffed out a screen play with ease. Rookie defensive tackle Kayden McDonald had an excellent play that wouldn’t show up in the box score. He fired off the ball and craned his neck right quickly. He saw the screen developing and fired up the field at Davis Mills. McDonald wasn’t going to get Mills, but the quarterback was surprised by the speed of the large defender headed his way and rushed the throw a little. McDonald is a load for the offensive line to handle in the middle.
