The Houston Texans got typical Houston weather after returning to practice from a day off. It was their next-to-last workout before the preseason opener.

Here are 11 observations from the practice.

  1. Kamari Lassiter continues to impress. The rookie cornerback has been one of the better defenders consistently. If the Texans played a real game tomorrow he would start opposite Derek Stingley. Concerns about his speed have been answered. The stickiness in coverage is there. He closes on short plays quickly. He’s been excellent so far.
