Special teams stole the show and so did the defense
The Houston Texans got lucky with the weather again as they hit the practice field for day two of training camp. It was a special team-forward workout. They haven’t dialed it up just yet, but that’s coming.
Here are 11 observations from day two of practice.
The new kickoff and how the Texans handle it is my biggest observation of the day. No longer is the kickoff an extension of the commercial break. I felt this way in the spring and watching it here in training camp it remains the same: the kickoff is chaos. I believe someone will make this team with special teams being a tiebreaker between that player and another. It is going to be more important than ever.
