The Houston Texans won their third preseason game over the Giants 28-10. It was a dominant defensive performance.

Here are 11 observations from the win.

  1. The opening drive on offense for the Texans was nice but stalled out in the red zone. I didn’t love the play calls. I understand a front-endzone fade to Nico Collins but I don’t love a fade to Dalton Schultz. Stroud overshot him by a wide margin. The Texans went for it on fourth down and I am not sure the pass gets completed where Stroud was throwing it even if the opposing defensive line didn’t bat it down. It’s good to work out those issues now. The Texans were average in scoring a red zone touchdown last year ranking 16th in percentages. I loved seeing the bunch formation of the top three wideouts.
