A Healthy Defensive Line Gives the Texans a Chance in Any Game
Will Anderson's return got me thinking...
The Houston Texans get star pass rusher Will Anderson back this weekend against the Tennessee Titans. Anderson said Friday he was playing in Sunday’s AFC South affair but didn’t know if a snap count was in store for him.
The second-year pass rusher has been excellent. He’s getting the same amount of pressure as last season but converting the pressure into sacks at a higher rate. He credits honing in on his pass rush moves and thinking less about attacking quarterbacks for the improvement.
He will return this weekend against an offensive line that allows more pressure than any in football.
Anderson rejoins Danielle Hunter, the biggest menace for quarterbacks right now. Nobody has put more pressure on quarterbacks than Hunter as he leads the league with 72 pressures. That’s more than his total two years ago and he is quickly closing in on his impressive total from last season.
Those two alone would make opposing offenses fear for their quarterback’s safety, but there is more.
