An Ugly Win Still Counts as the Texans Push Win Streak to Seven
The Las Vegas Raiders were tougher than most expected
The Houston Texans are now 10-5 after their seventh consecutive win. Houston beat the Las Vegas Raiders 23-21.
Here are 11 observations from the much-too-close win.
Win number seven wasn’t easy, but the Texans got it. It was ugly, but style points haven’t mattered in months. They squeaked past a Las Vegas team coming off their second shutout. The hope for momentum to carry over from last week was quickly fleeting. The Raiders didn’t look like a team that was an embarrassment a week ago. Multiple players noted how close Las Vegas had played other playoff teams, but that hadn’t happened but once in nearly two months. You’d rather win than lose, but the ugly from this game is concerning. A high-level team would be able to replicate offensive success and bounce back on defense. The Texans did neither in this victory, which, to say the least, is concerning.
