Blitzing Bucs a Challenge for the Texans on Offense
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to bring the heat, but that presents an opportunity for the Texans
Anybody can blitz at any time when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing defense.
DeMeco Ryans said as much this week as the Houston Texans get ready to host Todd Bowles and his aggressive defense on Sunday.
Maybe it’s Joe Tryon-Shoyinka battling off the edge to get the quarterback. It could be Antoine Winfield Jr. screaming down from the safety position. Sometimes the pressure is simply big Tevita Tuliʻakiʻono Tuipulotu Mosese Vaʻhae Fehoko Faletau Vea AKA Vita Vea tossing aside a lineman to try to eat a quarterback.
The Buccaneers bring pressure.
Tampa Bay blitzes the fifth most of any team in the NFL. DeMeco Ryans said figuring out where the pressure is coming from is a fool’s errand.
“When the pressures are so varied, it’s hard to get a beat on when they’re doing what they’re doing,” he said. “If you try to focus in on what they’re doing, you won’t be able to figure it out in the game, right? So, you just have to do what we do well.”
