The Houston Texans are extending tight end Brevin Jordan through next season. Jordan’s 2024 season ended due to a knee injury and he was set to be a free agent before the extension.

The move is savvy for the Texans and presents an opportunity for Jordan.

Jordan was set to be one of the best available free agents if he’d put together a solid 2024 season. The knee injury robbed of him that opportunity. He gets to stay around an organization and a team that he is familiar with and play with a quarterback he showed potential with at the end of last season and this preseason.

Going into free agency with a current injury, injury history, and a scarce amount of stats would be dangerous. Jordan has 53 catches, 532 yards, and five touchdowns in his four seasons in Houston.
