The Houston Texans are 4-5 after their comeback win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They won 36-29 after scoring 26 fourth quarter points.

Here are 11 observations from the win.

  1. The Texans completed their biggest comeback since 2013 overcoming a 19-point Jacksonville lead to win. Houston needed this win to keep their season on the rails. It was one of the ugliest starts ever. They had an interception, a fumble, and plenty of mistakes to put them behind. That was just the first quarter. It felt like a miracle to only be down 10 at halftime. Jacksonville didn’t let up in the third, and the mistakes didn’t stop. The defense played terribly on the final Jacksonville scoring drive. Then the defense buckled down and forced the Jagaurs into two punts giving the offense a chance to complete the comeback. Numerous offensive players after the game said they stopped shooting themsleves in the foot and stayed with their approach. It worked and they took the lead. The Jaguars had a costly penalty late that eliminated their chance at a field goal and the Texans took the ball away and scored on the final play. A loss would have sent the team spiraling and eliminated any notion of the playoffs. A win keeps hope alive.
