Chance to Prove Texans are On Right Track Arrives Sunday Night
Handling success was an issue last season, will that carry over?
The Texans are set to play a rookie quarterback, a shaky offensive line, a decent rushing attack, and a somewhat dangerous defense.
Does that sound familiar?
It isn’t quite the bye week and facing the Carolina Panthers on the road, but this is a measuring stick for DeMeco Ryans and his team.
It will measure how well they focus and handle success.
Last season Ryans was frank about his team needing to learn how to win. The Texans lost to the Falcons in Atlanta after trouncing the Pittsburgh Steelers. The aforementioned Panthers game was another one.
Ryans and his team figured it out. They rattled off three straight wins including a dazzling offensive showcase against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and an upset of the Bengals in Cincinnati. Each ensuing loss for the rest of the season was met with a resilient performance and a victory.
The Texans began the season with a tough opponent on the road. They were ready for the challenge and overcame self-inflicted wounds to grind out a win over a division rival.
