Chargers Loom as Tough Test for Texans to Earn Respect
The Houston Texans have doubters and opportunity
“I’m just here to let my helmet and shoulder pads do the talking.”
Joe Mixon kept it simple when asked if he reacted to former New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan’s comments about the Houston Texans. Ryans said on ESPN that this week, the Los Angeles Chargers had essentially a bye week playing the Texans in the playoffs.
Understandably, the Texans aren’t highly thought of heading into these playoffs. They’re the kings of one of the worst divisions in football. Houston has a win over just one team with a winning record this season. Their nationally televised games have produced poor results.
Houston had a rock fight with the Chicago Bears. The New York Jets ended a losing streak against them. They blew a game against the Detroit Lions where they had five interceptions. It took them longer than most to pull away from the Dallas Cowboys. They played the Kanas City Chiefs tough but four days later the Baltimore Ravens embarrassed them 31-2.
If someone only caught those games I get why the Texans would be considered light work for the Chargers.
The noise isn’t important to the Texans.
