C.J. Stroud made his stance clear after the loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

“We’ve got to be aggressive and attack, and not be the attacked,” Stroud said, also noting that they can’t be conservative.

DeMeco Ryans wants the offense to move the ball. He doesn’t care how it gets done.

“For me, it’s just to move the football efficiently up and down the field,” Ryans said. “However that looks, you can get explosive runs. If we block it the right way, run it the right way, you can get explosive passes. When we hold up in protection, give C.J. time, the routes are on time. Everybody’s in the right position they need to be in. There are multiple ways to move the football. There’s not just one way you have to do it.”

While Ryans kept it outcome-oriented, Stroud got specific about how the offense can execute his aggressive request.

“I think getting Nico [Collins] back is going to be helpful,” he said. “I think just using our guys that we have the right way. I think just being explosive with the ball in your hands. If that’s running the ball, if that’s getting a short pass and making RAC [run after catch] or YAC [yards after catch], whatever you want to call it. Just making sure that when we get the ball in our hands, we’re making plays, and it’s my job to distribute it.”

Stroud laid it out perfectly.
