It was a terrible second half from the defense

The Houston Texans lost to the Dallas Cowboys 34-30. They’re now 0-4 on the season.

Here are 11 observations from the loss.

  1. The defense failed again. After a successful first half, the Cowboys rattled off four touchdown drives in the second half. The defense again failed to protect the lead. It is the third time this season the offense has done enough, and the defense has failed to close the game out. The Texans are now 0-4, which is their worst start since 2020. Bill O’Brien was fired after the lackluster start. The Texans aren’t firing DeMeco Ryans, but business as usual isn’t going to cut it.
