Defense Strikes Back | Training Camp Day 15 Recap
A slightly sloppy day for the offense yesterday
The Houston Texans had their 15th training camp workout on Tuesday. They have a walkthrough today. Thursday will be a joint practice with the Carolina Panthers.
Here are 11 observations from the workout.
The offense looked sloppy. It was a far cry from the successful day on Monday. The defense did its job, but the offense had some poor moments. There were miscommunications. There were drops. There were blown blocks. It wasn’t the best. It was slightly disappointing that it wasn’t a stacked day for the offense. DeMeco Ryans praised his team’s mental toughness in this practice. It was an outside practice in the middle of the day, which is not the norm.
C.J. Stroud still made some nice plays despite the offense's inefficient showing. He stepped up to avoid pressure and fired the ball to Jayden Higgins on a crosser. The two connected again in the red zone for a big gain as Higgins dispatched Jalen Pitre. Stroud found Nico Collins for a crosser that was timed and placed so well it was a touchdown.
