The Houston Texans wanted to address their depth in each of the past two offseasons. DeMeco Ryans mentioned it during his conversations about the roster. Let’s see how the Texans have done.

Last year, I was tougher on different parts of the team. I was also overly generous on occasion. This year, I aim to be consistent and only show bias to a few of my favorites.

Quarterback: C+

Davis Mills is fine as a backup. Most teams across the NFL are in trouble if their starter goes down, and the Texans are no different. Mills is a middle-of-the-road backup. He’s familiar with the organization, though his offense is new this year.

Could the Texans win half the games he plays if C.J. Stroud had to miss a month? I believe they could. Could the Texans make the playoffs with Mills if Stroud had an extended absence? No.

Running Back: C-
