Life Without Nico Collins Won't Be Easy
Time for plenty of pieces of what was supposed to be a deep team to step up
Nico Collins is headed to injured reserve. The Houston Texans will be without the NFL’s leading receiver for at least the next four games.
Collins injured the hamstring on his explosive 67-yard touchdown connection with C.J. Stroud in the win over the Buffalo Bills.
Houston is now set to face at least the New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, and New York Jets without their star wideout.
“Unfortunate that we’ll not have Nico,” head coach DeMeco Ryans said. “Great player, been a great player all year for us. Best receiver in the League. But he’ll take the time to get healthy. He’ll be back for us. So, encouraged by that news.”
Ryans was adamant Collins would be back this season.
C.J. Stroud echoed the “next man up” mentality. Tank Dell seemed ready for the challenge of playing without Collins proclaiming a “just play football” approach.
