The Houston Texans designated wide receiver Nico Collins to return to practice on Friday. Collins has been on injured reserve since he hurt his hamstring in the team’s win over the Buffalo Bills.

The Texans will still need to place Collins back on the active roster before he can play. Houston has until mid-afternoon on Saturday to make that transaction so he can play Sunday night against the Detroit Lions. They currently have an empty spot on their roster.

It isn’t certain if Collins has practiced enough to return to the field but it would be a major boost for the Texans.

Despite missing the past four weeks, Collins still ranks highly among pass catchers.
