One Day Later: C.J. Stroud's Big Day But the Defense Disappoints
How did C.J. Stroud do and what to make of the defensive struggles?
C.J. Stroud’s Grade
I am going to give C.J. Stroud a grade of A- for the game against the Colts. He was spectacular for most of the day and dealt with even more pressure from the opposing defense than in the game against Baltimore. There’s still a thing here or there, like the toss to nowhere almost being intercepted and his ball security, that needs cleaning up. It was overall a great day and a big step forward in C.J. Stroud’s potential as a franchise quarterback.
Stroud’s Significant Seven
Each week I take a look at seven key plays from C.J. Stroud’s performance.
1st Quarter - 7:58 - 3rd and 4 - C.J. Stroud completes a pass to Nico Collins for 28 yards.
This was a sign of things to come on Sunday. Stroud stood firm in the pocket when the last time he’d dropped back to pass he was sacked. He felt the pressure but stood and delivered the throw. It was placed perfectly and on time and Collins did the rest. When he has time, and he’s on time, Stroud is dangerous.
