One Day Later: Texans Head Into Bye Week After Tough Win
The Texans grind out their third win and pull even at 3-3
Apologies for the Delay. One Day Later-ish this week.
C.J. Stroud’s Grade
I give C.J. Stroud a C+ for this game. He made some nice throws, but there were some moments for learning. He broke a few pockets too early. The offense didn’t move the ball well in the second half. The first interception plays into this grade too. I know there is nothing from this game that qualifies as a negative that is a constant or something to worry about a ton. It just wasn’t as crisp as his previous performances.
Stroud’s Significant Seven
Each week I take a look at the seven most significant plays from C.J. Stroud’s performance.
1st Quarter - 13:38 - 3rd and 6 on the Houston 13 - C.J. Stroud pass complete to Dalton Schultz for a gain of 19 yards.
This is one of those throws the modern greats make all the time. C.J. Stroud breaks the pocket and rolls out while keeping his eyes on his tight end Dalton Schultz. While he is on the run Stroud fires it to Schultz and the tight end does the rest. This is an element of Stroud’s game after questions in the draft process if his legs will be used enough.
1st Quarter - 6:05 - 2nd and 8 on the Houston 44 - C.J. Stroud pass intercepted by Saints Zach Braun. Braun fumbles recovered by the Texans.
