The Houston Texans lost to the Indianapolis Colts 19-17. They are 0-3 after the loss.
Here are 11 observations from the loss.
DeMeco Ryans contributed heavily to the losing effort. He passed up a field goal in the first quarter. The Texans were stuffed on a fourth-down attempt. It was similar to last week. Why the head coach would pass up points is beyond me. This team has struggled every second Nico Collins hasn’t been on the field. Three points would’ve been big. If the Texans had three more points, the Colts would’ve had to drive for a touchdown. Ryans talked last week about the willingness to get that yard. He doesn’t have the players to get that yard, willingness be damned. They’re not talented enough to consistently run the ball in that spot and get the conversion. Not last week. Not this week. He shouldn’t ever eschew points with this offense.
