Senior Bowl Catches Caserio's Eye While Wideouts Breakout on Day 1
The Texans had their general manager in person to observe the workouts
The Senior Bowl is the top college all-star game of the offseason and marks the start of the draft season. The slogan of the Senior Bowl is “The Draft starts in Mobile” which refers to Mobile, Alabama where the game and practices are held.
Nick Caserio has added more players from this event each season. Nico Collins was his lone Senior Bowl draft pick in 2021. The 2022 draft saw Jalen Pitre and Dameon Pierce get the call to be Texans after participating in the Senior Bowl. Myjai Sanders was added to the team this past season. Sanders was also a participant in the 2022 Senior Bowl.
The 2023 class saw a majority of Senior Bowl participants occupy draft slots. Senior Bowl participants were Tank Dell, defensive end Dylan Horton, linebacker Henry To’oTo’o, offensive lineman Jarrett Patterson, and wideout Xavier Hutchinson. Five of the nine draft picks were at the Senior Bowl last season.
This year’s Senior Bowl is underway with the Tuesday practices in the books. Here are some observations from the workouts.
