Senior Bowl Day Two Sees Repeat Success and Some New Standouts
Plenty of good action in Mobile during the second day of practice
The Senior Bowl rolled on Wednesday with plenty of eyes on players who stood out from the first day. Many of those players didn’t disappoint, but there were some new standouts as well.
Before my observations, I want to talk about one particular prospect.
Don’t Sweat Sweat
T’Vondre Sweat is a polarizing prospect. The defensive tackle from Texas was excellent this past season for the Longhorns and instrumental in the run to the playoffs for Texas.
Sweat was a monster on Wednesday again. He demolished a center in one rep nearly folding the player in half as he pushed him back. When the drill necessitated two blockers Sweat used one arm on each blocker and drove them both back.
He’s been excellent here in Mobile.
There’s plenty of skepticism of Sweat though. There are questions about his weight. There are questions about his ability to play beyond the first couple of downs. Can he rush the passer?
