Texans Defense Dominates Chargers on Way to Wild Card Win
The defense kept the offense in it until they got going as well
The Houston Texans started slow but dominated the Los Angeles Chargers down the stretch for a 32-12 win. They move on to the divisional round.
Here are 11 observations from the win.
The Houston Texans showed incredible resiliency in their win over the Los Angeles Chargers. It was a disastrous start for the offense with a fumble and multiple punts before they showed any semblance of success. The defense played incredibly well early keeping the Texans in the game and eventually taking over the game. Ultimately the Texans dismantled a solid Chargers team in the second half and will move onto the divisional round. This is a game at times this season the Texans would have melted down and lost, but they didn’t in this one.
C.J. Stroud didn’t have his best game but had flashes of excellence. There were signs of peak Stroud in this one, mixed with some plays he will want back. The start was rocky, no doubt. It looked like the weird snap-fumble play woke him up.
