Texans Dismantled by Playoff-Bound Browns
The Texans were helpless against the Browns for most of the game
The Houston Texans are 8-7 on the season after losing in blowout fashion to the Cleveland Browns.
Here are 11 observations from the 36-22 shellacking.
The Texans were demolished. Nothing went right for them on Sunday. It was an example of a team living in the margins having basically every mistake or missing player turn into a massive setback. There wasn’t room for mistakes, but the Texans made a ton of them. It’s in the running for the worst performance of the season, despite the garbage-time points the Texans were able to add in the fourth quarter.
Davis Mills should have been given a chance to play when the game was closer. A few garbage time throws don’t make the Case Keenum decision wrong, but there is more zip in the arm and more ability to drive the ball. He also has a slight bit more mobility in the pocket than Keenum it appears. It likely doesn’t change the outcome, but we will never know. It was pretty clear Keenum was not leading a comeback.
