The Houston Texans have a lot of cornerbacks but a few more options wouldn’t hurt.
Derek Stingley has had four straight football seasons affected by injury. Jeff Okudah and C.J. Henderson have accomplished little since being highly drafted players. Desmond King failed to make the team out of training camp last year. Myles Bryant’s departure from the Patriots was met with cheers from the fanbase on social media. Mike Ford, Kris Boyd, Troy Pride, and D’Angelo Ross are likely special teamers.
The cornerback room gets thin in a hurry with one or two injuries.
I do not believe the top cornerbacks of Alabama’s Terrion Arnold, Toledo’s Quinyon Mitchell, and Clemson’s Nate Wiggins will get close to the Texans. Iowa’s Cooper DeJean might but I like him at safety more than cornerback. That’s a conversation for the safety position.
Here are cornerbacks the Texans should think about drafting. I have a dream selection, a realistic selection, and a sleeper who should be better than his slot.
