Texans Draft Preview: Defensive Tackles
What defensive tackles would work for the Houston Texans?
The Houston Texans could use some more beef along the defensive line.
The team bid farewell to their starters at the position from a year ago trading away Maliek Collins and letting Sheldon Rankins land with the Bengals in free agency.
The defensive tackle room has some familiar faces along with some new ones. Kurt Hinish and Khalil Davis were rotational players from last year’s line and should fight to remain in the rotation. Foley Fatukasi was signed in free agency after a solid season with the Jaguars. Tim Settle was a backup in Buffalo before coming over in free agency. Mario Edwards is headed into the tenth year of his career as a backup defensive lineman. McTelvin Agim has played sparingly since he arrived in the league four years ago. Denico Autry can only be considered a defensive tackle on occasion.
The room could use some juice and youth to help it out.
The talent concentration at defensive tackle is right in the sweet spot for the Houston Texans. I believe one of the selections the Texans make in the second round will be a defensive tackle.
Here are some names and potential fits for the Texans in the second and third rounds along with a few options who should be there on day three.
