The Houston Texans have the best 1-2-3 in football when it comes to wide receivers. So it may be curious for you to read I still would like for the team to draft one next week in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Nico Collins, Tank Dell, Stefon Diggs, and even Noah Brown are the foundation for what could be the best wide receiver room in football this season. Add in the second playing season for John Metchie and Xavier Hutchinson and the potential for this season gets even deeper.
The draft isn’t just about this season though. Collins, Diggs, and Brown are all set to be free agents. Metchie and Hutchinson showed little promise last season. This year’s class is one of the deeper groups of wide receivers in recent memory.
It’s a worthwhile investment to pick up a pass catcher.
I don’t believe the Texans should ignore other spots where depth makes sense. Defensive tackle, safety, and cornerback need attention too.
This exercise will help determine where the various potential wideouts make sense for Houston based on their current draft picks.
I am not including Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze, and Brian Thomas in this list because even in a wild scenario don’t I see these players coming anywhere close to the Texans.
