The Houston Texans defeated the San Francisco 49ers 26-15. They’re now 3-4 on the season.

Here are 11 observations from the win over the 49ers.

  1. DeMeco Ryans challenged his team this week, and they responded. Ryans intimated that if his team executed, they would be fine. Execute they did. Houston rarely spent time without control of the matchup against the 49ers. Just two drives went anywhere for the 49ers offense. It was an excellent response on a short week by a team that needed to start their homestand with a win.

  2. This is the level many hoped for from the offense. They showcased necessary explosiveness. There was efficiency from early downs, and when there wasn’t, they still overcame mistakes to put points on the board. C.J. Stroud was well protected. Even some red zone mistakes didn’t come back to bite them as they continued to put points on the board.
