Texans Finally Get Record Even With Late Road Win Against the Titans
It wasn't pretty but it counts all the same
The Houston Texans get a walk-off win against the Tennessee Titans to move to 5-5 on the season after the 16-13 win.
Here are 11 observations from the win.
The Texans escaped Tennessee with a win. The offense of the Texans mustered just four scoring drives, all in the second half. One of them was aided by a turnover. It wasn’t pretty, but Houston avoided losing a game that could have ruined their season. Warts from previous weeks were apparent. The end of half operation in the first half was bad. The tackling had some rough moments. The offense took forever to get going. All of those things are easier to live with when you sneak a win out to get even on the season.
Nico Collins got in a groove. He had a slow start to his season, but the star wideout is playing like a star again. He finished the day with nine catches, with just one incomplete pass on the day when he was targeted. His red zone touchdown helped them avoid another nasty red zone trip. Davis Mills kept the final drive alive, finding Collins on third and long. It was an excellent route against coverage designed to take him away. Every week, unless another team finally finds a way to completely take him away, he should have this many, or more, targets.
