Texans Hang on Against the Broncos for Another Close Win
The cardiac Texans struck again but this time it was a win in the end.
The Houston Texans got back in the win column winning their seventh game of the season 22-17 against the Denver Broncos.
Here are 11 observations from the win over another AFC playoff contender.
The defense finished again for the Texans. The offense couldn’t put the Broncos away, and a poor decision by the officials wiped out a Desmond King touchdown, but the defense held strong. The defensive line in the red zone pressured Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson a lot forcing him to make some throws off schedule. Denver didn’t finish, the Texans did, and they won. The defense is on its way to paying back the debt to the offense.
C.J. Stroud was tough and hit enough big plays to have the Texans in position to hold on for a win. Stroud was again dealing with pressure as the Broncos were getting after him plenty, but he ended up with another big passing day. He and Nico Collins are a connection that when they click can’t be stopped. They were clicking again on Sunday.
