Texans-Rams Joint Practice Observations

The Houston Texans finished training camp with a bang as they hosted the Los Angeles Rams for joint practices. I focused on the defense of the Texans against Matt Stafford and the offense of the Rams while taking a look over at the offense when I could. Credit to my colleagues Landry Locker (who does great work on YouTube) and Troy (aka TexansCap who writes a free newsletter you should subscribe to here) for assisting me with some offensive observations.

Here are the observations from the joint practice.

  1. If I were to score this practice overall I would tell you the Texans “won” against the Rams. It felt like Houston had more offensive success, though not without hiccups. The defense for the Texans flustered and frustrated the Rams all day. It would be a lower score than expected for these two teams on the imaginary scoreboard. The two biggest absences to note right away is the Texans were without Will Anderson while the Rams were missing wide receiver Puka Nacua.
