It’s almost summer vacation for the Houston Texans, but they had Wednesday’s mandatory minicamp to finish up.

Here are 11 observations from the minicamp workout.

  1. Nico Collins had the catch of the day. The newly-paid wideout shook loose from Derek Stingley and caught a perfectly thrown deep pass from C.J. Stroud. Later in the red zone, Collins lost his defender while Stroud scrambled. Stroud found him for the easy toss and the score. He looks to be every bit the player he was last year and is a tough cover for any of the defensive backs on the Texans.

  2. Kamari Lassiter conintues to standout. The first selection by the Texans in the 2024 NFL Draft had a few more great moments on Wednesday. Tank Dell didn’t let the rookie get his hands on him and turned on the speed to try to shake loose from Lassiter. Lassiter stayed composed and didn’t allow Dell to win with speed as the ball went elsewhere. Lassiter and I can’t say this enough, has never looked slow on the field.
