The offensive line of the Houston Texans is better than it was last year. That was the hope and goal of the offseason.

It’s not a lot better, but it’s better.

Last season, the Texans were the fifth-worst team in terms of quarterback pressure allowed, according to Next Gen Stats. Houston finds itself ranked 17th in the same statistic this year. It’s not even a three percent difference, 37.9% vs 34.5%, but it’s notable.

They averaged nearly 3 sacks per game last year, compared to 2.5 this season.

It’s an incremental improvement, but a notable improvement. Especially considering how the Texans got here on the offensive line.
