Here is the schedule the Texans will play in 2024.
09/08 Week 1 - at Indianapolis Colts
It stinks the Texans start on the road and finish on the road and play more road games than home games. Either this game or the last game should have been at home. The Colts will be knocking the rust off of Anthony Richardson and surely be out for blood for how last season finished.
09/15 Week 2 - Chicago Bears - Sunday Night Football
Right into primetime for Caleb Williams. The top overall pick will travel to face the Texans for Sunday Night Football. The Bears have a prolific wide receiver group, but not as good as the Texans. I like the Texans on offense against this Bears defense.
09/22 Week 3 - at Minnesota Vikings
I believe this will be J.J. McCarthy starting for the Vikings. The rookie makes this game a little easier but Justin Jefferson is quite the equalizer. Jefferson against Derek Stingley will be incredible. This also features a couple of Texans from last year’s defense Jonathan Greenard and Blake Cashman. Of course, this is Danielle Hunter’s previous team as well.
09/29 Week 4 - Jacksonville Jaguars
An early trip to NRG after the Texans went to Jacksonville early last year. The Jaguars got the Texans in Houston last year. Winning this one with the Colts game to start the season would give the Texans a nice start in the AFC South.
10/06 Week 5 - Buffalo Bills
An early premiere matchup that missed the primetime window. No problem. It should be one of the better quarterback matchups on the schedule this week as Josh Allen and the Bills visit C.J. Stroud, Stefon Diggs, and the Bills.
10/13 Week 6 - at New England Patriots
Rookie quarterbacks don’t sit anymore so I would be shocked if this isn’t Drake Maye. The Patriots are an untalented team with a ton of question marks. This is a nice spot for this game, but don’t get caught looking ahead.
10/20 Week 7 - at Green Bay Packers
Another game I believe had primetime potential that missed out on a marquee timeslot. It is good to miss Green Bay later in the season because of the cold weather later in the year. Jordan Love and the Packers have been getting a lot of hype for this season. We will know if the hype is real by this part of the schedule.
10/27 Week 8 - Indianapolis Colts
The Colts dominated the Texans in Houston last year. I don’t anticipate they will do that again. This will be a test of Anthony Richardson’s durability too. If Richardson isn’t playing the Colts are far less dangerous.
