The Houston Texans once again lost in the divisional round. The Kansas City Chiefs beat them 23-14.

Here are 11 observations from the final game of the 2024 season.

  1. The Houston Texans weren’t good enough to win on Saturday. There were too many mental mistakes, some snowballing out of control, to beat a team like the Kansas City Chiefs. They don’t have good enough players at some of their important positions either. Houston fell apart after they scored the touchdown to make it 13-12. The moment was too big for them and their talent too little. The Texans will look back at the myriad of mistakes and kick themselves for beating themselves more than a couple of times in this one. Yet again, the Texans had to play their opponent and themselves.
