The Texans Talk to Top Cornerbacks While Tight Ends and Safeties Impress at the Podium

There was plenty to learn from Thursday's combine sessions.

The Houston Texans need defensive backs. Lucky for them there just happens to be a few hundred in this draft class that are chomping at the bit to help.

Thursday saw the defensive backs and the tight ends speak with the assembled media in Indianapolis for the Scouting Combine.

Let’s talk about cornerback with the Texans having both starting safeties (Jimmie Ward and Jalen Pitre) along with a key backup (M.J. Stewart) under contract. Cornerback is a bit more scarce for the Texans.

Derek Stingley is set to start and be the team’s top cornerback while D'Angelo Ross and Ka'dar Hollman are on the roster as well. Steven Nelson is set to be a free agent. Desmond King is too.

There’s a need for more than a handful of players at cornerback, and the Texans are doing their homework.
