Houston Texans training camp starts today. The 2024 season starts in mid-July with hopes of a mid-February finish. That would be a long, but welcomed season for the Texans. The Hall of Fame Game with the Chicago Bears is two weeks away. The team will need to be down to 53 in 40 days. Between today and that roster cutdown will be numerous practices, four preseason games, and one joint practice with the Los Angeles Rams.

The following exercise is an often futile one. Guessing a 53-man roster 40 days before it will be set is nearly impossible. It does give you a good starting point on how you feel about a few players, and maybe even moves that need to be made.

Here is the way-too-early 53-man roster projection.
