Wild Day Ends With C.J. Stroud Breaking Records and Finishing Comebacks
Stroud passed for five touchdowns and 470 yards in the victory
The Houston Texans played a thriller defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in comeback fashion 39-37.
Here are 11 observations from one of the wildest days in franchise history.
C.J. Stroud is one of the best rookie quarterbacks to ever lace up cleats. His trajectory is through the roof after a performance like this. The 470 passing yards are the most ever from a rookie quarterback in a game. The Texans are never out of a game with him. The confidence he plays with, and that the team has in him, is incredible. Houston has a special player at the quarterback spot. Stroud said he had “complete” confidence they were going to win. The Texans battled all day long and in the end, their offense had a chance and picked the defense up.
The final touchdown pass is a huge credit to this entire offense. C.J. Stroud said after the game the Texans had not worked on that play since training camp.
