Texans vs Titans: Final Thoughts and Score Prediction
The first of two consecutive AFC South games before the bye week is here
The Tennessee Titans are the first of consecutive AFC South games that could see the Texans wrap up the AFC South before their bye week. They need some help, and the Indianapolis Colts need to lose two straight, but it can be done.
It won’t happen that fast if they can’t handle the weirdly assembled Titans. Tennessee tried to rebuild and reload in one offseason, leaving them a poorly constructed team that could not compete for a division title. Their defense has some nice pieces, but their offense shouldn’t threaten the Texans.
Quarterback Will Levis has thrown an interception in every game this season except for one. He constantly makes curious decisions with the football leading to precarious positions for the offense and putting the defense in tough spots. He’s showcased moments of impressive play, but consistency is non-existent for Levis.
Add in the poor offensive line play by the Titans and it’s a spot where the current franchise quarterback for the Titans will have a long day.
The Texans have their offensive problems. They looked fine against the Dallas Cowboys but there could have been much more from this offense. C.J. Stroud and his group haven’t been consistent either. Houston has more hope. Stroud and company looked solid earlier this year and of course last year mid-year he got rolling with the offense.
A solid Tennessee defense will present a challenge but if the Texans are going to keep rolling ahead of the bye week, showing up and playing well against the Titans would be a sign of hope that the offense’s ceiling is much higher than what most of this season has showcased.
The Texans beat the Cowboys. Topple the Titans, whip the Jaguars, and head to the bye week with plenty of cushion in the division, and maybe even the title.
Score Prediction
The Texans will win 34-13. The Texans will handle the Tennessee Titans. Will Levis and the offense for Tennessee will have a tough time moving the ball against the Texans. The returns of Will Anderson and Kamari Lassiter give Houston one of the healthiest versions of their defense. The defense will create some short fields for the offense. I have concerns about the offensive line of the Texans but another week for Nico Collins and C.J. Stroud to get going should have the offense going in the air and I trust Joe Mixon on the ground.
I have zero worries today and am expecting the Texans to blow out the Titans. Hopefully that is what ends up happening.
