This is one of those rare instances where it is truly addition by subtraction. Hutchinson and Metchie are probably better than Brown in the long run and Brown is the last person that should be in the situation of getting set up with screen passes. That was ridiculous on Sunday.

Cody, I think you are spot on with everything you said.

Looking at the OGs, including Shultz, I believe CJ will lean pretty hard on them out of trust and respect in the short term. However, I also think CJ will use some of the "chemistry" with MIGHY MOUSE, Hutch and Metchie that he built in camp.

I like to watch a show on YouTube called "QB School"....That dude Sullivan does a great breakdown of plays using film, slow motion and multiple views of specific plays....Why it worked and why it didn't.

If you don't watch his channel do so it is well worth your time.

He was pretty impressed with CJs skills and timing...especially as a rookie. After watching this I have found Stroud to be a much better QB at reading coverages and anticipating his open receivers than I thought he would be. Quite a few times the ball was in the air before the receiver even made his cut..."Ball placement specialist" was a perfect term for him!!!.....As CJ and our receivers gets more time in this Slowik system and the playbook gets opened up a little more expect major FIREWORKS!!!!

One of our worries for this team from the beginning was a lack of a legitimate "WR-1".

I'm beginning to see that this Slowik offense was never built on targeting or needing just one guy to win.

It seems to be built around a bunch of quick and shifty route runners that will find open windows as they transition between defenders....and CJ hitting them in those windows.

The whole idea is to quickly overload an area with receivers and confuse the DBs about who to cover...and having a QB who can exploit that confusion.

Multi level short to mid depth routes with opportunities for YAC.....EAT THAT CLOCK and make 1st downs.

That plan is tailor made for our WR by committee room....our running game....and our QB!!!

GO TEXANS!!!

I like OGs for Woods and Nico Collins haha.

JT does a really good job.

Oh yeah I think the more they get into the system the better they will be for sure.

YAC is a big focus in the NFL right now.
